About this artwork
This is a large abstract collage which captures the lively essence of a country garden in full bloom. Some of the collage papers used as a background are acquired (line illustrations, music scores, text, newsprint), but most were gelli plate printed on deli paper - some using stencils. These bespoke bright pinks, blues, and purples burst forth against a backdrop of lush green foliage, with layered textures and vibrant forms evoking the joyful abundance… and untamed beauty of nature at its peak. A few passing butterflies complete the scene. The piece comes complete with a white wooden floating frame ready to hang. The framed measurements are: 63 x 83 x 3.5 cm (33 in x 25 in x 1.4 in). The canvas is signed and a thin layer of varnish serves to protect against UV light and dust.
