About this artwork
This fantastical still life riffs off of natural forms creating new possible arranged in a mottled green vase on a table. This artwork was created firstly using the alcohol technique which involves dripping alcohol into watery acrylic paint to create 'cells'. Thereafter another wash of watery acrylic paint has crumpled plastic film impressed into it and the outcome suggested the still life you see to me. Soft pink, peach, purple and blue hues are… offset against green foliage. The bold, expressive use of colour and form creates a dynamic composition, where the vase and its contents seem to come alive with energy, inviting the viewer to interpret the vibrant interplay between the abstract elements. The picture is supplied ready to hang with a white stain wooden floating frame. The artwork is coated in ultraviolet-protective varnish to protect against fading and dust. Frame measurements are: 25 x 33 x 1.5 in (63 x 83 x 3.5 cm). A certificate of authenticity is included.
