The contrasting choice of the untreated wood support with its raw appearance, its simplicity, its humility and the ink, resin and gold leaf worked as a sophisticated and opulent material in its own right created this strange tension. Here the little birds are reduced to compact… shapes, small volumes which fit into the space of the wood and sometimes its veins...

Altone Mishino is a French painter with international exposure. Mishino studied calligraphy at the Beaux-Arts in Paris an apprenticed in the studio of the painter Olivier Debré. His acrylic on canvas paintings are created in an abstract style using a monochromatic color scheme. Mishino's paintings are minimalist and expressive compositions.
