About this artwork
There's something magical about Paris in the rain, isn't there? I wanted to capture that fleeting moment when the city transforms into a living symphony of color. The Arc de Triomphe stands proud against the cobalt sky, but it's the solitary figure with the blue umbrella that truly tells the story.
Rain changes everything – making colors more vivid, creating perfect mirrors on the pavement, making even grand monuments feel intimate. That lone walker… in blue, moving through liquid light... they could be any of us, couldn't they?
The warm golds of street lights dance with cool evening blues, creating an emotional push and pull I find irresistible. Each brushstroke was a conversation between warmth and coolness, solitude and grandeur.
