In elaborating this piece I used a wool scarf covered in epoxy resin on a white resin and crushed glass canvas surface resembling the snow. This piece may evoke loss, absence, or simply a reflection on things or persons now gone. The source of inspiration came from the news about migrants crossing the northern border of the United States in harsh Wintertime conditions, where migrants from Latin America were risking their lives to cross illegally… into the United States from Canada. While this specific issue triggered the symbolism of this artwork, I reflected on migration and loss as some of the big problems humanity confronts, not only in the USA but around the world, due to different reasons. Therefore, this minimal artwork suggests remembrance and thought.
