About this artwork

Vechornitsi. Evening, winter gatherings on the eve and during the holidays. It is a Ukrainian tradition to get together on long winter evenings in order to listen to family stories, have dinner, dance, and sing folk songs. Traditions are especially strong in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Winter mountains turn into a fairy tale. The vertical and horizontal lines of the mountains and their blue and purple colors are amazing. Carpathian houses, like dancers,… are dynamic, scattered over the mountains here and there. Blue, cold shadows and moonlight paint bizarre figures of fantastic animals on the surface of the snow. Winter's Tale. The unforgettable Carpathians are a place where you want to return.
