About this artwork
With this oil pastel painting, I have captured the powerful energy and vulnerability of a strong woman, the painter Frida Kahlo. The expression in her eyes and the vibrant colors reflect passion and inner strength. This work radiates an emotional warmth that fills any room with courage and authenticity. It invites us to recognize and appreciate the depth of human emotions.
Andrea Holl works primarily with painting, drawing on her masterful training at the Leonardo Art Academy in Salzburg. She creates large-format, dynamic paintings in dense, flowing, and intensely colorful compositions, whose movement and rawness are accompanied by a special lightness of being. Her work explores the interplay of gentleness and strength in the feminine, connected to tradition and the present, and conveys a profound vitality as well as a powerful, multifaceted emotional world that makes empathy and intuition palpable.
In 2025, Andrea Holl was awarded Platinum, the highest distinction, at the International Art Prize "Duc de Richelieu" (Odessa - Frankfurt - Vienna).
