About this artwork
My work blends acrylics and varnish with organic materials to create an abstract dance of the forces of nature. The majestic mountains, captured in soft gray velvet, rise with bold energy and quiet power. I wanted to capture the untamable while creating a symphony of silence. This painting will bring a vibrant, calming presence to your space that inspires dreaming and reflection.
The "OnVelvet" series uses exclusively velvet as a base.
A whole… spectrum of different materials and thick colors spread out on it. Iceland moss, plants, earth, embroidered lines made of yarn and, as usual, a thick, opulent application of color run through the themes of the pictures. Inspired by nature, the attempt to approach absolute being results in mountain views with great visual depth that seem to extend far into space, as well as magnificent floral structures that extend to entire galaxies.
Working independently and autodidactically with various artistic means has had a major influence on my current work. Today, my focus is again on painting, but I don't set myself any limits in my work and I still work with various media and materials on different surfaces, such as wood, natural canvas or velvet. I pour, draw, paint over, putty and embroider my works. Everything flows, just like the paint over my canvases. I always work intuitively and try to be completely in the here and now, to devote myself to painting and to follow the line or color as if in a dream. In 2014, I founded the Künstlich Gallery in the 4th district near Karlsplatz with my husband Alexander. The colorful gallery, which also houses my studio, established itself as a place to and independently display one's own works. All works are created in the gallery, from stretching the canvases together to painting, creating the photos and exhibition catalogs and the exhibition itself.
