About this artwork
In this work, I have captured the raw intensity of human intimacy. Using pencil and oil pastel, I create the tension between two figures who, despite their individual boundaries, merge into one another. Expressive and figurative, I depict the fragile interplay of closeness, friendship, love, and freedom—the freedom to be unconditionally human.

Andreas Wurzinger is a trained painter and draftsman who, after intensive training and numerous exhibitions in Vienna, works as a visual artist. He primarily works with oil pastels on cardboard, favors black and white tones, and employs a powerful, abstract-figurative, calligraphic style. In his works, he creates bridges between the inner and outer worlds through allegorical, latently spiritual drawings – his art invites contemplation and deep reflection and conveys a quiet hope for peace.
