About this artwork
It is an image of our entities that live in the dark forests of our depths, and we know that they are there and that they are looking at us, but we are afraid to see them in ourselves, and consciousness blocks them.
Only sometimes the light of awareness will flare up for a short time, reflected in their eyes, and we again plunge into the fantasy delusions of the dormant forests of our ideas about ourselves.
The painting is made in the author's… technique of thick application of oil paints with fingers, almost without the use of brushes. It is something similar to Jackson Pollock's performance method called "action painting", but in a modified way. And this technique is similar to the style of performance "pointillism" used by Georges Seurat and other artists of this school.
This manner of performance gives an opportunity to pour out all one's energy on the canvas with active physical movements, and often it looks like a dance or some kind of magical ritual.
Andrii Kovalyk, with a lifelong passion for nature's beauty, is an experimental painter who often utilizes an innovative finger-painting technique from a distance to create textured layers. His style, characterized by the employment of traditional mediums juxta positioned with his unique method, results in a deeply emotive, fine art experience. Kovalyk's artistry evokes a sense of spiritual reverence and the profound depth of human emotions, aiming to inspire noble sentiments and reflection.
