About this artwork
An exercise in shades of orange color and complimentary colors in a patterned abstract (geometric) style,
The piece is a continuation of my patterned abstraction series and yet another study in Bauhaus geometric abstraction.
For those who wonder about inspiration, I repeat : “my geometrics come from a place in the mind where shakes, objects, and colors intermingle and compliment. “
After completion of a highly detailed piece with angles… and lines or figurative or floral work, I move to geometrics as a mind challenge. Often falling asleep after an hour of imagery to be crafted in the geometric work.

Exciting US painter Andy Hollimon has never taken an art class in his life. It was after military service and a business career, that Hollimon discovered his natural gift for painting. Working mainly with oil paints, Hollimon is a realist painter, but admits to approaching realism with 'on canvas twists'. Such twists include surprising color schemes, moments of abstraction, and perspective shifts. Hollimon's paintings are luminous, mysterious, and joyful. Full of revelations, they invoke delight and invite contemplation.
