About this artwork
In creating this piece, I delved into the abstract and cubism styles to craft a dynamic interplay of emotions and history. Using acrylic and golden leaf, I segmented the visage, emphasizing fragmentation and continuity. Each gilt sliver and earthy tone embodies resilience—highlighting human strength and complexity. This artwork is meant to spark conversation and reflection, adding a profound and enriching aura to any space.
« I am a self-taught oil painter who seeks to capture your eye as a portal to that part of the brain which can lead to interest, likes, wants... »
Exciting US painter Andy Hollimon has never taken an art class in his life. It was after military service and a business career, that Hollimon discovered his natural gift for painting. Working mainly with oil paints, Hollimon is a realist painter, but admits to approaching realism with 'on canvas twists'. Such twists include surprising color schemes, moments of abstraction, and perspective shifts. Hollimon's paintings are luminous, mysterious, and joyful. Full of revelations, they invoke delight and invite contemplation.
