About this artwork
For all non-sailors: A windward capsize means that the wind suddenly hits the sail from the wrong side.
It's the moment when you know, "Okay, this is going wrong, but there's nothing I can do about it."
And before you can finish thinking, splash, you're lying in the water.
In my picture, it's also pouring with rain.
I painted it in the summer of 2024 - and it reflects my mood at that time quite well.…
As usual, I first just let the paint flow over the structure of the marble powder base.
Then feeling and form came into play.
I am always amazed at how this creates works that bridge the gap between external representation and the power of your emotions.
