About this artwork
This painting forms part of a series
That basically represent all the forty years of my artistic career
To explain that I have to tell a little story
A couple of years ago, I was looking for something on the attic of my parents house
I didn’t t find what I was looking for
But instead some 6 rolled up paintings of mine
Large canvases I painted when I was studying art in Rome
I could have left these paintings
In the original state
But a strong creative… impulse
Irresistible and compelling
Made me take up this work again
After 40 years
I loved to do that and I will work on the remaining paintings as well
In the same style
The painting forms part of a project
The center piece, an old willow from the meadow, that I rescued from total destruction, being so beautiful and dominating the landscape with its sheeps.
I worked together with an expert on wood and preservation to make it a piece of my emotional landscape
With the sheeps wool I fabricate
A queens cape
That basically represent all the forty years of my artistic career
