About this artwork
In my work, I explored the tension between observation and action, reflected in the classic allegory of the three monkeys: see no one, hear no one, speak no one. Using acrylics, I painted a starry sky above geometric and symbolic figures below, which dramatize the disconnect between knowing and doing. By presenting these elements in a vivid and figurative way, I aimed to provoke a reflection on cultural and personal inertia. This work brings home… an impulse of introspection and visual dialogue.
Anette Zeltner, a German-born painter, was influenced by Florentine culture and combines years of experience as a photographer and videographer. Her unique style is characterized by geometric forms and the clear, expressive use of color. Her symbolic art serves as a mandala that reveals states of mind and contains universal, cosmic messages. Her images radiate visible harmony and understanding, which has a transformative effect upon viewing.
