About this artwork
This summer I found myself in a cycle of heatwaves. The temperatures soared, and I found myself on a quest to find swimming pools. Somehow in this painting the turquoise blue came to represent the water, a kind of oasis. The paintings became almost maps containing the water. And in my hunt for swimming pools in the summer heat, the turquoise captures the feeling of diving in to swimming pool blue.
