About this artwork
The nighttime view into the distance, in which the lights flicker in a colorful blur and form a small work of art in themselves, inspired me to create this picture. Artists such as Monet, David Hockney and Gerhard Richter in particular often play with light in painting. With bold, bright colors and dynamic brushstrokes, I capture the energy and movement of the city. I choose the titles of my works based on the feeling I get when looking at the picture,… in this case like the fizz of an Aperol Spritz.
The matte varnish means there are no annoying reflections on the oil paint. The diverse color space means it fits into any design. It is made from the best oil paints and is signed by the artist on the back.
For Angela Wichmann, painting is a space of complete immersion – a dialogue between light, color, and perception. Her fascination with the interplay of light and shadow, the power and play of colors, led her to art and continues to captivate her.
Angela Wichmann is currently fascinated by artificial light: how it shapes moods, transforms colors, and leaves traces in the darkness. Whether colored light sources in urban spaces, distorted reflections on water surfaces, or transparent reflections – for her, light becomes the true protagonist of her images.
