About this artwork
In this piece, I wanted to capture the fragility and introspection of the human being, using soft tones and forms that evoke vulnerability. The figure, bathed in white, emerges from a dark background, symbolizing inner light within the shadows. My impressionistic brushstrokes convey movement and emotion, inviting the viewer to connect with that intimate moment of reflection and inner exploration. You will feel calm and depth in your space!
María Ángeles Sánchez Buendía is a painter with a background in economics who has been teaching painting at her academy in Murcia for over twenty years. She primarily uses acrylics and leans towards Impressionism, although she enjoys exploring different techniques and themes. Currently, she is focused on the poetics of feminine beauty and the diverse forms that nature reveals to us. Her works convey a profound sensitivity, seeking to capture and share the beauty she perceives in the world through her paintings. Although beauty is like joy, if you have to look for it outside yourself, it means you don't have it. What I mean is that it's not the things you look at, but the state you're in when you look at them. Because one moment there's nothing there, and the next, there it is. So beautiful it takes your breath away. And the question is: was it already there, or did something within you change enough to allow you to see it? And when you're in that state, doesn't the whole world become magical?
