About this artwork
In Feng Shui citrus trees are very auspicious. People brought small trees in pots to the emperor in China. The fruits ripened during the travels and were auspicous offerings. This elegant drawing is perfect for your money corner.
Everything in this tree painting evokes prosperity. The element water is presented by the boat-shaped blue bonsai pot. A gilded wave pattern on the pot symbolises flow. And flow is what we want in our Feng Shui money corner.… Gold leaf represents metal. Wood is present. The tree is bearing fruit. The tree is blossoming. The lucky number 8 is repeated: 8 fruits and 8 roots. The auspicious number 18 repeats in 18 open blossoms & 18 closed blossoms. The artist used tan, blue, and green to summon abundance.
This elegant drawing is on 300 pound museum quality cold pressed Arches watercolour paper. The artist drew the tree with a mason's pencil, cross-hatched and contoured with an ink filled brush. She gilded the blossoms.
