About this artwork
AAMI Park – A Walk Through Memory and Color
As a child, I walked these streets often. My parents owned one of the first pawn broker businesses in Melbourne, and every trip to the city meant parking near AAMI Park and weaving through its surroundings on our way to work. I still remember the excitement of those walks—dodging bustling crowds, feeling the city’s pulse.
This artwork is more than just a painting; it’s a reflection of those moments—of… Melbourne’s energy, its architectural brilliance, and the way color moves through the city. Using vibrant tones, I’ve captured the dynamic atmosphere of AAMI Park, blending its unique geometric design with the surrounding urban landscape. The flashes of green from nearby parklands, the electric hues of match nights, and the golden reflections of the city lights—all of it comes together in this piece.
Ani Ipradjian is a Melbourne-based painter and printmaker with diplomas in Art & Design, Graphic Design, and Photography, blending contemporary abstraction with a multi-disciplinary background. She uses layered acrylics and mixed media, incorporating bold colour palettes, dynamic asymmetry, tactile textures, and tribal-inspired patterns to create organic, sophisticated compositions rooted in Australian landscapes and Armenian heritage. Her art evokes deep connection, wonder, and belonging, inviting viewers to be transported into abstracted worlds woven with memory, cultural storytelling, and the spirit of place.
