About this artwork
Water – around us and within us.
In the third image of the series, I explore the constant transformation of water itself:
the fluidity that can never be captured, the blurriness in which forms appear and disappear again.
At the same time, hints of Australia emerge – colours, structures, contours –
and combine with geometric, man-made shapes.
This is how nature and culture, movement and order, depth and surface meet
in a single, vibrant pictorial… space.
Anja Gienger is a freelance artist in Tübingen. She primarily uses acrylics, ink, and oils in her diverse works. Her mostly abstract pieces emerge from free fields of color, multi-layered structures, and experimentation with materials such as earth, pigments, ash, and fabric. She creates vibrant contrasts that reflect moments of change and polarities in life. Her art conveys a deep, moving resonance, invites reflection, and reveals beauty in imperfection, in the interplay of light and shadow. Her work is influenced by her love for Taoist movement arts. She has practiced and taught Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Bagua, and meditation for decades. Since 1998, Anja Gienger has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Germany and abroad. She has been a member of GEDOK Reutlingen since 2026.
