About this artwork
Landscape of Brittany, France.
I tried to capture the tranquility and immensity of a deserted beach, with its undulating dunes that stand nearby. The lower part of the painting is dominated by fine sand, its streaks and texture suggest the presence of wind, an invisible but almost palpable element. Large, voluminous clouds, with defined contours and a cottony texture, float in a luminous, almost unreal blue sky. The complex play of light and shadow… within each cloud is a celebration of space and depth; one could almost feel the slow movement of these formations in the atmosphere. The work, capturing a unique moment, invites us to contemplate the ordinary beauty of the landscape, and suggests a reflection on our intimate connection with nature.
This painting is painted with professional quality oil colors.
The white finish on the sides of the canvas allows for hanging without a frame if you wish.
