About this artwork
The paintings are meticulously painted with acrylic paint on panel. They are stories about events or people from my life. Reality, fantasy and dream are intertwined. It is precisely the small encounters and events that I choose as a subject for a painting. These are portrayed with a lot of patience and love.

Annemarie Petri is an award-winning Dutch painter, printmaker, and sculptor whose works have been extensively exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, and China. Her sources of inspiration are diverse and include 17th century engravings in the spirit of Piranesi, the natural sciences, literature, and, predominantly, the romantic desire to create an imaginary world of her own. Petri believes that art is predominantly about life and death, rising above the individual.
