About this artwork
This work unfolds the colors and moods of autumn in a soft, almost atmospheric movement. The circular form alludes to the cycle of nature and makes the image appear like a small planet, a world unto itself, full of change and transience. In this series, the canvas becomes a poetic reference to the earth itself, to its forms and its constant transformation. The work is inspired by the Icelandic landscape, where nature can be experienced in all its… power and presence, directing the gaze to what is essential: to what passes away and what remains.
Annette Goessel is a painter with international training based in Vienna. She works with oil on canvas and aluminum composite panels, her style influenced by interdisciplinary thinking and travels around the world. In series of works, she develops atmospherically dense, technically sophisticated pieces that exist between abstraction, figuration, and installation through serial, experimental processes and wafer-thin layers of paint. Her art radiates freedom, intensity, and emotional depth, inviting contemplation and wonder.
