About this artwork
I draw what I see on forays through the landscapes.
Later in the studio, I surround myself with these drawing notes and layer by layer I create the picture of a landscape, a landscape that is not committed to a specific location.
Water, clouds, rain, solid ground, light, changing colors.
A disturbance, a break in this game.
« My working style is based on creation, destruction, a new beginning with all my body. My greatest happiness is when a picture keeps me moving. »
Annette Selle is an experienced painter from Germany whose work has been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Growing up in Berlin, Selle was inspired by the baroque and renaissance styles she saw in museums and developed her own artistic practice. Working in oil on canvas, she sees painting itself as a space for living and probation, resulting in textured abstract compositions full of layers and deep color palettes.
