I was deeply impressed by Javier Marias' book "My Heart So White." He explores how the unspoken shapes life just as much as the spoken, and how characters are connected to each other through silence and hidden truths. I want to express this theme in my painting. The woman's hair, symbolizing fire, is a suggestion of the man on the left, and the rigid, immobile posture of this "couple" expresses their being bound by this mysterious family story.
Annette Streib-Ebert, an established artist, uses a variety of media, including drawing, collage, monotype, and mixed media acrylics. Her techniques are spontaneous and unplanned, intuitively applying lines, surfaces, and colors until human motifs often emerge in the painting process. Her dynamic works explore the complexity of human existence, question our identity and life story, and serve as emotional mirrors for the viewer.
