About this artwork
Questo dipinto ha un’eleganza poetica e una calma intensa — la figura con gli occhi chiusi sembra immersa in un momento di pace e introspezione, mentre le pennellate nere danno forza e contrasto.
Annika Dzerve (b. 1987, Riga, Latvia) is a visual artist whose work explores the meeting point between emotion and atmosphere. She holds a Master's degree in Visual Arts from the Art Academy of Latvia and participated in an Erasmus program in Lecce, Italy.
Dzerve now lives and works in the countryside near Oria, in southern Italy, where daily life close to nature informs her sensitivity to light, weather, and subtle shifts in mood. Her recent series investigates “internal climates” through diptychs that pair female presences with atmospheric, abstracted fields of color.
