About this artwork
I very luckily managed a 3 day trip to the Derbyshire Dales to do drawings and experiment with artist and tutor Lewis Noble just before the second lockdown started. The weather was wild, wet, icy cold and windy. The next day Lockdown 2 started, depressing, frustrating and all the other things living with the pandemic and Covid 19 does to your psychological state. this large painting emerged (along with a number of small ones) initially started in acrylic and then finished in oil paint.

Antonia Glynne Jones is an East African painter now based near London in the UK. After completing formal training at the Johannesburg Art Foundation and under the tutelage of with Oliver Bevan in London and Roy Ray at the St Ives School of Painting, Jones embarked on her career as a full-time artist. Using oil paints and collage, Jones creates dynamic representations of land and seascapes, most often in the abstract style.
