About this artwork
"Golden Monument" – 40x40cm | Acrylic and 23-carat gold leaf | on wood support
In this work, I dared to try something new: instead of the usual flowing colors, I let myself be guided by straight edges and soft shapes. Structured yet playful at the same time.
And all this on a very special surface for me: wood.
I love this material—warm, vibrant, full of history. In another life, I might have become a carpenter. Now I'm an IT professional and… an artist, and I let my creativity run wild with wood.
I finished the piece with 23-carat gold leaf, because a little shine is a must.
What I particularly love about "Golden Monument"? The playful movement in the image—and the fact that the natural grain of the wood still shines through.
Antonia Wieduwilt is a painter with many years of experience, whose artistic training was influenced by Dietrich Lusici. She works with acrylic paints and experiments with light, shadow, and a touch of gold in modern, abstract, and colorful compositions. Her works are characterized by flowing colors and forms that leave room for the viewer's own interpretation. In her paintings, she aims to make the invisible visible and convey deep feelings such as love, comfort, security, and grounding – emotions that become tangible through pure observation.
