Canal Grande, Venice is a large-scale original oil painting that captures the emotional energy and timeless atmosphere of Venice through expressive, textured brushwork.
Rather than aiming for photographic realism, the artist translates the city into movement, colour and light. Thick, gestural layers of oil paint create a vibrant surface where water, sky and architecture merge into a single visual rhythm. The reflections of the canal are built through… dynamic strokes and rich chromatic contrasts, conveying constant motion and depth.
The gondolas, rendered in deep blacks, provide strong visual anchors within the composition, guiding the eye across the painting and reinforcing the sense of scale.
