About this artwork
This painting is unique in my production. I have not yet managed to repeat such a figurative effect. The man's face, or what remains of it, a semblance of a sensation, was made by burning paper material. This dissolution of the figure refers to the passing of time, but, observing carefully, something remains. The book that he carries in his hand remains intact, that is, it is not the flesh but the intellect, the culture that resist the passing of…
time. And while the clock in its place does not tell the time because we are in a dimension of eternity, certain written verses, some wonderful inventions of the human mind, continue to echo beyond time in the universe.
