About this artwork
This work is still unfinished, in progress. In this piece, I wanted to capture the melancholy and passage of time through an antique car frozen in stillness. Using oil paint and figurative realism, I seek to depict not only the physical image but also an atmosphere charged with memories and mystery. Hanging it will imbue your space with a nostalgic energy that invites quiet, profound reflection.
« The world that surrounds us provokes strong emotions within us and when we want to transmit it, we only have one way to do it: through a sincere look. »
Antonio Mateos Prieto is an award-winning artist based in Spain whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in France. His diversely themed works are inspired by concepts relating to sincerity, emotion, and truth. Although figuration is a common thread in Prieto's compositions, he also explores a strong dichotomy between figurative description and expression through abstract brushstrokes and realism. He favors creating with oils on wood, canvas, or linen.
