About this artwork
Soft Opening captures a quiet moment of becoming — when movement begins not from urgency, but from trust.
The bird opens her wings without force, held gently by air and light. There is no need to rise, no need to perform. The surrounding space dissolves into softened color and atmosphere, allowing the figure to exist in ease rather than effort. This painting reflects a state of inner permission — a moment where strength expresses itself through… gentleness.
Inspired by Florida’s light and sense of openness, this work is created with intuitive, layered oil brushwork and a luminous palette of blush, coral, soft blues, and sun-warmed tones. Edges remain intentionally softened, inviting the viewer to slow down and feel rather than analyze.
Soft Opening is an invitation to rest inside softness — and to recognize it as a form of freedom.
Aranka Fazekas is a contemporary figurative-abstract artist born in Hungary and currently living and working in Florida. Her artistic practice is rooted in intuition, emotion, and inner listening, shaped by early creative exploration, studies in graphic design, and professional training at the Milan Art Institute in Sarasota.
Working primarily with oil and mixed media, Fazekas creates softly layered paintings that move between figure and abstraction. Her work explores themes of presence, transformation, and the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength. Subtle symbolism—often inspired by nature and birds—appears throughout her paintings, evoking freedom, intuition, and quiet connection.
Influenced by the light and openness of Florida, her paintings invite viewers into a calm, contemplative space where emotion can be felt rather than explained. Each piece is created as a gentle pause—an inward moment of reflection and resonance.
