About this artwork
This work is born from an intimate memory and a profound feeling: the horses of my childhood still live inside me, foals that symbolize innocence, vital energy, and the need for freedom. By depicting them within the human torso, I wanted to show how those memories remain alive, beating deep within, even when we grow up and adult life encloses us in new structures.
The intense red of the background represents the force that surrounds that memory:… passion, struggle, intensity. The colts, on the other hand, provide the tenderness and fragility of what we once were. The work plays with that tension: the vulnerable versus the untamable, the child versus what maturity demands of us.
It is, ultimately, an invitation to look within, to recognize that we all carry an inner space filled with memories, instincts, and freedom yet to be unleashed.
