About this artwork
This mixed-media work brings together collage, drawing, and painting, uniting oil and acrylic with glued paper elements. At the center stands my interpretation of Botticelli’s La nascita di Venere, reimagined as a contemporary icon and set against layered textures. In the lower part of the composition, a figure dressed in black holds a compass and set square—symbols of order, measurement, and hidden knowledge. Surrounding these motifs are copied…
images of music cassettes from the 1990s, fragments of a cultural memory that evoke personal nostalgia and the spirit of an era. The interplay of classical mythology, modern symbolism, and pop-cultural references creates a dialogue between past and present, harmony and disruption, permanence and ephemerality.
