About this artwork
It represents the exchanges of perceptions that occur at the unconscious level during a dialogue.
This painting acts as a representation of the internal world organized in a cartographic plane where each piece integrates and justifies its unique location as an essential part of a totality under construction, with this concept I treat as a metaphor the complexity of the psyche where all the emotions and memories that are shaping the personality in… constant transformation. In the pictorial space, I try to emulate an atmosphere of intimacy, timelessness and subjective perceptions, as happens with conversations with oneself, forms converge and are grouped, organizing a thought, a belief, a temperament. This is how the set of these elements are the route to understanding my own identity.

Arlén Sánchez is an award-winning Mexican artist whose paintings have been widely exhibited on a national level. Her works delve into topics that concern her identity and the conditions in which it is formed. Sánchez is also inspired by the interactions between the internal world, which includes her present and her memories, and the public space. Oscillating between the figurative and the abstract her sensorial based compositions are created in a gestural and expressive manner.
