Armelle Léon mainly uses ink and watercolor on Asian papers; after courses at the Fine Arts school in Lorient and university training at Rennes 2, she then turned her attention to Asian arts and spirituality.
Her technique combines swiftness of gesture, poetic expression, and ura-uchi marouflage, creating landscapes poised between abstraction and figuration, rooted in a profound observation of the island's natural beauty on Belle-Île-en-Mer. Through her works, she conveys a sense of fragility and strength, inviting contemplation and a poetic serenity in the face of the wild beauty of the natural world.
Among the various mediums, Armelle Léon also explored the fire arts, earth, ceramics and enamels, and participated in collective firings in Japanese anagama style kilns, creating stoneware pieces.
His works are present in private collections in France, the United Kingdom, the Canary Islands, China, Japan and New Zealand.
