About this artwork
Scene from the film “All the mornings of the world” directed by Alain Corneau in 1991 representing Monsieur de Sainte Colombe with his daughters Madeleine and Toinette during a viola da gamba lesson in the spring of 1650. We see Madeleine very diligent in mastering the instrument while Toinette sits at the back of the room and watches the scene sullenly. This oil work awakens the raw emotion of music, capturing an intimate moment of transmission… between a master and his student. The warmth of the tones and the play of light invite contemplation. Each brush tells of passion and dedication. This will bring an inspiring and emotionally charged atmosphere.
« What's the point of trying to reinvent images when those around us are so beautiful, and all we have to do is reproduce them as faithfully as possible. »
Arnaud Feuga is an artist based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally and in the United States. With a background as a marine biology researcher, naturally, his favorite themes relate to the sea. However, Feuga also creates distinctive and realistic figurative compositions which include portraits and cinema-inspired pieces. He paints exclusively using oils on canvas.
