About this artwork
This painting of 2008 is at the crossroads of several stages of my plastic research. Taking up the representation of the mask of the Masques Anciens series, it presents the premises of a more elaborate and elaborate use of the material that will bring the approach to the series of Chair de Poule.
Ancient masks (2003-2005): these paintings date from the years 2003 to 2005. They correspond to the plastic research which was mine at the time, more… expressionist than the later works. Long stayed in my studio and very little exposed, I now wish to present as one of the origins of my current work.
