The great Existences, which are the principle of Mahat in its cosmic sense, are
connected with the minor existences that express the evil of the system. They are the sum total of
separative instrument, and where there is separation of any kind, ignorance will be found, and
therefore, evil. The separation annuls the understanding, that is, the knowledge of what is
is outside of separate consciousness, because separatist knowledge means
identification… with that which is being expressed through a form.
