The “Pandora” painting is my visual translation of today’s existing society. It consists of a farrago of current social situations, which can be attributed as an intentionally manufactured chaos of the leading class, with the upper aim of mass producing bounds; prisoners as in Plato’s cave allegory.
“Pandora” depicts the rotting auras of misinformation, lack of education, inequality and prevail of unworthiness and all the other flaws that a so-called… “modern and evolved” society is being plagued by. All these traits can contribute to nothing more, but an image of sepsis and stigma. This artefact ή work of art aims to lead the viewer into the realisation and the awakening so that the aforementioned situations can be perceived. It also poses the question as to whether there is still a chance to resist.
With this work I joined the group exhibition “Personal Data” at Myro gallery (2022) in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Athanasia-Iris Giaxidis, a multidisciplinary artist, weaves Indian ink, acrylics, and sculptural elements into her exploration of philosophical and mythological landscapes. Her work delves into conventions with an abstract eye, creating archetypal, yet contemporary expressions through a robust conceptual framework. Her art, laden with skeletal forms and silent screams, wrestles with the notion of free will, urging a return to authentic existence. Her pieces resonate with the urgency to transcend modern life's illusions, seeking spiritual liberation and true human connection.
