About this artwork
How much do I know myself? How much do I want to know?
This piece pulses with raw emotion and vulnerability, capturing the depth of human pain. Using rich acrylic textures and bold, unsettling eyes, I wanted to expose the inner turmoil and complexity beneath a fractured exterior. Imagine this painting filling your space with a powerful energy that confronts, heals, and challenges your emotions, creating a profound connection between you and your… soul.
For decades, I have exhibited my work while pursuing a lifelong exploration of the human condition. My paintings are influenced by experiences that have shaped my understanding of suffering, love, betrayal, resilience, and hope. As a child born with a harelip, I experienced social segregation and rejection, learning early how fear and prejudice can affect human relationships.
Later, I lived through the Civil War in Beirut, endured imprisonment under Syria’s military regime, and spent much of my life living and working in different countries around the world.
These experiences led me to question the nature of humanity: what drives cruelty and compassion, destruction and healing, despair and hope.
Working in a style that combines Expressionist emotion with Impressionist sensitivity to atmosphere and memory, I seek to capture the psychological and emotional landscapes that connect us all.
My art is an invitation to reflect on our shared humanity and the forces that shape
