More than ten years ago, this early work was exhibited in the artist’s own gallery in Ootmarsum (NL), where it formed part of a pivotal period in Ayka’s artistic development.

Ayka Chao is a Dutch-Chinese artist whose work blends contemporary expression with subtle Eastern influences. Her paintings are known for their layered textures, metallic accents and symbolic details, creating a visual language that balances strength, elegance and emotional depth.

As a mother of four daughters and one son, Ayka draws inspiration from the intensity, resilience and beauty of everyday life. This role deepens her exploration of transformation, intuition and feminine strength.

Inspired by inner growth, Ayka investigates the space between the visible and the symbolic. Each artwork invites the viewer to pause, reflect and connect with their own inner narrative. A quiet dialogue between light, movement and meaning.
