About this artwork

In this work, I wanted to represent an incandescent maternity. Here I work on the fusion of bodies in a bath of warm light—a solar yellow for the mother, a luminous white for the child—like two stars entwined in the heart of a red-orange sky.

I seek to convey this tension between strength and fragility, between the protective impulse of the maternal body and the vulnerability of the infant. The black line, always raw, holds the forms, contains… them, and also retains them—as a mother does when faced with the intensity of the bond.
