About this artwork
In this work, I explore the female body in a pose that is both poised and tense, a stylized figure that almost becomes a sign. The woman, naked, sitting on her legs, seems to be listening to an interior space, her gaze turned towards the invisible. She is not the object of gaze but the subject of her own presence.
The body is crossed by fluid black lines, sometimes bursting, which structure the form like an expressive skeleton. Bright yellow, a… solar and vibrant color, dominates the composition, contrasting with the muted blues and grays of the background. This contrast creates an emotional vibration between silent interiority and pictorial affirmation.
The texture of the background, almost scratched and raw, helps to place the figure in an environment that is both abstract and atmospheric. I like to work on this border between figuration and pure energy.
This work is part of my series on female figures—not idealized, but anchored in a plastic gesture.
