About this artwork
In this painting, I paint a moment of change, of extreme tension between two bodies.
The couple is frozen in an intense, almost acrobatic tango movement. But what interests me here is not the virtuosity of the gesture, but the abandon it implies, the total trust of each in the other.
The shapes are angular, almost sculpted, as if the movement had frozen under emotion. The warm colors—deep red, ochre, brown—reflect this contained passion, this… energy flowing through the lines of the arms and the bends of the legs.
I work in masses, in silences too: the faces are anonymous, because what matters is not the identity of the dancers, but the strength of the connection. This painting is an embrace suspended between balance and vertigo.
