About this artwork
I created this piece around Christmas one year. It started out with glued newspaper ads and evolved into a more definite image of Christian symbology thwarted by the exigencies of modern politics and commerce. As I worked on the piece off and on for years, it became more and more evident that underlying the religion and politics of Middle East was the lust for oil with tiny Israel pushed into a corner by the sea.
