About this artwork
"The return of Persephone from Hades" is inspired by the Greek myth of Persephone, daughter of Zeus and Demeter (goddess of harvest). Hades, the ruler of the underworld, sees Persephone, falls in love with her and kidnaps her, taking her to the underworld. The mother Demeter is desperate and causes a hard and endless winter, and Zeus is forced to reach an agreement with her: Persephone will spend 6 months in the underworld and 6 months with her mother… Demeter. When Demeter and her daughter reunite, the Earth blooms with vegetation and color, but for a few months of the year, when Persephone returns to the underworld, the earth becomes an arid kingdom again.
« It is important to work with love and constancy, inspiration can come in the most unexpected moments. »
