About this artwork
Le Muse di Moregine is inspired by the colors of the frescoes of the Roman villa of the Triclini, located near Pompeii.
One of the dining rooms (triclini) of the building is decorated with various figures of Muses and divinities.
The Muses (Μοσαι in Greek) were the protectors of song, dance, music, and subsequently of all singing and musical expressions.
Erato (Love Poetry), Tersichore (Dance), Clio (History), Talia (Comedy), Euterpe (Music),… Calliope (Epic Poetry), Melpomene (Tragedy), Urania (Astronomy) and Polymnia (Sacred Hymns) are nine o'clock Muses that find space on the walls of the dining room of the Roman villa of the Triclini, whose frescoes can still be admired in the Palaestra Grande of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.
« It is important to work with love and constancy, inspiration can come in the most unexpected moments. »
