About this artwork
VIEW TO THE RHINE IN AUTUMN is a typical impressionistic oil painting. The scenery depicts a sunny autumn day on the Rhine near Nierstein. The yellow vineyards stand out due to the complementary shades of blue in the sky. It's an almost summery, pleasant atmosphere. One would love to have a glass of fine wine here. The artist was influenced by the German impressionist Max Slevogt.
The painting is placed in a cream-colored frame and can be hung up… immediately. The dimensions refer to the outer frame dimensions, the picture is 60cm x 50cm.
« For me, representational and abstract paintings play a synonymous role. When I look at my work, I have to say, "That's it!" »
Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
